Sound Design & Engineering
For nearly the past ten (10) years I have worked and served as both a sound designer and as a sound engineer for many venues, events, and productions. Sound production is my forte as it is what I have grown up around and is the field in which I have worked the longest. Serving as the sound engineer for nearly every event at both my middle school and high school I developed many skills for a wide variety of event and production types. These ranging from Orchestral Concerts, to Musicals, to Dub-step Festivals. The largest productions in which I have engaged in are the musicals which my high school, Downingtown West, put on. These included Bye Bye Birdy, Titanic, Phantom of the Opera, and State Fair. For these productions I served as both the lead sound engineer, but also as the sound designer. For both Phantom of the Opera and Titanic I mixed the performances in full 5.4 surround sound, along with various area speakers for specific special effects. In addition to this for each of the musicals over thirty (30) wireless lavalier and headset microphones were used, in addition to a compliment of twelve (12) microphones in the orchestral pit for the instruments.
My experience in the sound production field extends beyond the schools in which I attended as well. I have grown up in the industry per se as it is my father's career as well; having worked in it for nearly fifty (50) years now. Through his company, PS-AR (Price Stevenson - Acoustic Research), I have gained experience working sound in the live event field for events ranging from small township fairs, to large music festivals with over twelve thousand (12,000) attendees. Through this I have learned to mix nearly any musical style, ranging from orchestral to mainstream rap.
On my own I have also gained experience in the recording industry as well, and have worked with a variety of groups in many genres, including Christian Rock, and Punk Metal. I have also acquired quite a bit of my own personal equipment of which I frequently make use of at events which I do sound for; a list of my equipment can be accessed above.
